just for fun

Anarchist, former sailmaker and very accomplished sailor (winning crew on the very first Around the World Race, for example), Keith Lorence, has written a book chronicling the pranks and hi jinks of some of sailing’s true characters from the 60’s, 70’s,  80’s and beyond. It’s a really great read and it brings back all kinds of memories of the way we used to sail.  And the craziness of when we weren’t sailing.

There were indeed some crazy times.  Hell, there is even a story with the Ed that involves winning a regatta, rampant sexism, being asked to leave St. Francis YC and much home club hand wringing…

We encourage anyone who wants a good laugh to pick this up. Besides, any book about sailing with a power boat on the cover has to be good, right?
