The goal of Waterlust is to explore the relationships we have with water and how humans connect with it on a personal level. The scope of this project is broad, encompassing science, sports, conservation, and everything in between. Through art, music, and film, we hope to inspire people to think about our oceans and the threats that they are currently facing.
In our newest film Coastguards, biologist Austin Gallagher sheds light on the relationship between humans and sharks by highlighting some of his research and in-water experiences with these predators. Shot in locations across the world (South Africa, the Caribbean, and the South Pacific), this adventure illustrates that by spending time with these animals, we can turn our innate fears into fascination, a needed step to aid in their conservation.
