With the Melges 32 Worlds just around the corner, we turn an eye to the cross trainers in the fleet. Pieter Taselaar just took top spot in the biggest Viper 640 event in history at the 44-boat NAs, but more interesting is this shot of Bronco owner/driver Michael Dominguez, who recently moved up to the ultimate cross training platform for go-fast action; the moth. Here’s the explanation, from Anthony Kotoun and the Mach 2 Moth USA site:
Michael sails out of his home in Barrington, RI and got caught out sailing late when he was supposed to be prepping the grill. In order to avoid the doghouse, he decided to bring home a fresh catch. Michael explains, "The photo shows part of the aftermath of striking a school of fish while going downwind on a Moth. Not a very conventional fishing method…but it is effective!”
