After a long tour around the world the America’s Cup World Series has returned to the America’s Cup venue San Francisco.
The event now gets to tap into the extensive tidal modelling Tidetech has done for San Francisco Bay and, what’s more, the tides and currents will be integrated into the Liveline and Virtual Eye graphics for the live race broadcasts this weekend.
Ahead of this leg of the ACWS Tidetech has updated the San Francisco data by incorporating new bathymetry (depth info) from original surveys into the model. This has resulted in a more accurate representation of tides along the city front.
We’ll be posting images on our Facebook page as soon as we have them – if you want to see them in action, watch the America’s Cup live race broadcasts on YouTube from Thursday to Sunday.
