JaredC gives us all a reminder on how not to do it on a new-to-the-owner Olson 30. From Charleston Harbor Wednesday night racing, where the current runs strong, the BP mark bears the scars of those who misjudge the current, and the après-racing drinks at Salty Mike’s heal most wounds. Add or subtract to those wounds in the thread.
For a not-as-crashy but equally fun video, check out this Farr 40 round-down video from the Santa Barbara to King Harbor race. It is really kind of funny actually, because we sailed Anarchy in the same race and hit 21.5 in 30 true and it was one hell of a lot more intense than this. No one was laying around on deck with us – they would have been under water half the time! And no we don’t have any god damn video because all the GoPros were down below and I wouldn’t let anyone go forward at that point!. – ed.
