Big Jase and the boys from Argo have done it again! Fresh off their drubbing of the fleet at the Melges 32 Europeans, Argo rolled a sweet 2,4 on the final day of racing at the Newport Melges 32 US Nationals to push past Michigan wunderkind Ryan Devos (Volpe) and Steve Howe (Warpath), adding the US Championship to their collection of scalps as they build up to September’s Melges 32 Worlds. Sick work from a still-quite-anarchistic bunch of dudes (and gal); here’s hoping they’re peaking at the right time. Interestingly, those top three boats are all driven by young guns, and Worlds should determine if an old(er) driver’s reflexes can make it to the top level of the most talent-laden and competitive owner/driver Class on the planet. This gorgeous pic from Joy Dunigan/Int’l M32 Class. Title shout out to one of the most influential rock/punk bands of the past quarter century.
