Anyone racing in Northern latitudes this weekend, especially Saturday night: Look up! A juicy solar flare erupted on Thursday, sending a coronal mass ejection (CME) straight at the Earth. We’re no rocket scientists (although many of you think we are), but we think that means pretty lights in the sky.
Anyone on the 200+ boats in the Port Huron to Mackinac race getting a good shot of the Northern Lights or noctilucent clouds, post them in the Mackinac thread, alongside all the reports we’ll be getting from STP65 “Equation”, TP52 “Natalie J”, MaxZ86 “Windquest”, Melges 32 “Badfish”, and Corsair “High Priority 2.” Best few reports and pictures get an SA shirt or belt!
