White horses built to a feisty 28+ knots on the Bay of the opening day of La Semaine Olympique Francaise, the final mass Olympic classes event in the run-up to the Games in Weymouth. Most classes were either held ashore or abandoned but for some of those that raced it proved an expensive day. One 2.4M sank and another dismasted. The forecast is for feisty breeze most of this week. – Ingrid Abery
