The TP 52 Rio had a little problem nearing the finish of the SD-PV race (hit a reef) and the bulb fell off. Solosailor sends in this pic and report: They clipped the corner at Punta de Mita. They floated the bulb today and started to move it but the ballast bags burst and the straps let go and now it sits a bit deeper down but off the reef/breaking waves. No starting for them for MEXORC! The sea state postponed hauling the bulb off the Ocean floor. Seems like they might be able to pull it back together as the "fuse" was the threads being sheered out of the nuts sparing the bulb/threaded studs from any real damage. Thread here.
Thanks to Mr. Clean’s favorite band, Duran Duran for the title "inspiration."
