One of the great boats from an era long gone – we love this sort of story…

Carina’s 2011 campaign was designed to integrate a circuit of the world’s premier ocean races with a circumnavigation of the globe, beginning with the 2,975 mile Transatlantic Race from Newport, RI to the Lizard in England. She then made the trek to Sydney, Australia to compete in the Rolex Sydney Hobart, and finally heads back to Newport in time for the 15 June start of the Newport-Bermuda Race 2012.

Carina is owned by Rives Potts from CT and had a crew of 12 including two sons, Walker and Allen and his nephew, Rives Sutherland, the boat captain. 10 of the 12 crew are Storm Trysail Club members, with 2 more submitting papers promptly!

Carina won the trophy for the "Yacht Traveling from the Furthest Port to Compete" "Her campaign started with the Transatlantic Race followed by Fastnet and Rolex Sydney-Hobart and she will now head back to the USA for the 2012 Newport to Bermuda Race"  – Anarchist Chris.
