The 10 year race record of 50 hours and 2 minutes set by Lawrie Smith on Rothmans was broken in 2001 by Sam Chan’s Free Fire, setting a new time of 49 hours 55 minutes and 12 seconds for the 480 nautical miles from Hong Kong to the friendly shores of San Fernando, La Union. There is a good battle between the TP 52’s Freefire and Strewth this year. Tracking by Yellowbrick here. For more information, here is the official website.
