We had the Rolex Regatta in Saint Thomas,Virgin Islands a few weeks ago and I was racing on a IC24 ( comfortable cockpit J24 conversion), which is our one design fleet here in the islands. The class is very aggressive with lots of protests. One odd protest that was filed by one visiting competitor who was filing a lot of protests. He filed against "Brand New Second Hand" , a boat that has won this class twice. Turns out the owner had made a custom carbon fiber tiller for the boat and the class rule is that the tiller has to be made of wood. No one ever thought of protesting that, but this guy was protest happy. They went to the protest room and it was found not class legal, no fine was given and the next day "BNSH" had a new tiller. As it was "BNSH" got 3rd. place and the protester got 4th. – Anarchist Chuck.
