Long day on the water. Postponed til 1 and got off water at 7:30pm
1st race probably the best boatspeed we have ever had and going the right way. In 2nd place half way up the beat and in very good company. On the lifted tack headed for the left at the top that was so good to us yesterday. All the poor people got shot out to the right as we rolled over boats. Then a 30 degree persistent shift to the right. We land at the weather mark in 6th last just behind Percy. Behind us are Torben Grael, Freddie Loof, Andy Horton, Polish world champ, French world champ. My job is to hold them all off for the next 6 miles. Place ur bets. Got my first DFL for my 48th bday…..luvs it.
Of course all the usual deep guys finished near the top which is not fair cuz we roll in that crowd.
Next race 15th at weather mark but I under shoot layline which cost us 10 boats. We then lose about 20 boat lengths dw but get another 8 boats back on next beat. Next run same thing happens finish 2nd last as we fall to the back dw. We were never this slow in our p star but the common thread is that it happens in the lighter air. Need to solve that or racing these boats will stop being fun.
3rd race sailed really good beats and held our own dw. Only mendlblatt got us and held off scheit by inches. Finished 20th. Andrew Campbell moved into 2nd and is the only NA guy at the podium….2 races to go
