Mark Turner and the OC Third Pole folks continue to capitalize on America’s Cup interest with by far the most talented field ever for the 2011 Extreme Sailing Series, currently with a four-way tie for the lead after one offshore day of racing in gorgeous Muscat, Oman.  While the Carlo Borlenghi photography is gorgeous and the produced videos are solid, we remain dumbfounded by the fact that we have still not seen decent live video coverage from any Extreme 40 event, ever.  Given the sponsor-heavy nature of X40 racing and OC’s oft-stated desire to ‘bring extreme sailing to the masses’, isn’t it strange that the fourth (or fifth?) year of X-40 racing gets nothing more than a live blog?

Speaking of live blogs, we noticed during Sunday’s blog coverage that the host mentioned something about “video tomorrow,” though we can’t find any other reference anywhere on the event site.  C’mon OC: Get your shit together…there are literally tens of thousands of Anarchists that want to watch this stuff, and countless others around the world that are ready for some action.

While it’s no substitute for live racing action, here’s yet another well-produced pre-event video.
