Glenn Ashby took out the Australian A Class National championships by winning the only heat to be held before storm cells lead to the abandonment of the final days racing.

Ashby consistently outperformed his close rivals around the course even though he was not the fastest up or downwind. However his race smarts and adapability to changing conditions secured him the latest title.

Race official abandoned the series after the storms meant up to 60 degree wind shifts making course setting impossible. Winds gusts hit 31 knots at abandonment. Final results should be up soon on the lake cootharaba sailing club webpage. Thanks to Mia Hacker photographics for the pic and plenty more here. – Mark Dawson.
