This past weekend Annapolis Yacht Club chaired the Rolex Farr 40 North American Championships. While only nine boats competed, there was no shortage of talent with America’s Cup, Volvo and Tour de Voile veterans helping to guide their owner / drivers around the course.
Wire to wire it was for Annapolis-based Rod Jabin’s team on Ramrod (shown above) who ran away with the show posting 8 bullets over nine races (they did get one second). Chris Larson was helping to call tacks for Rod, and he also had some time to help coach their junior sailor. Each of the boats were required to bring one junior onboard for the third day. This junior chick on Ramrod gets this week’s SCOTW nomination, she’s Olivia Larson, Chris’s daughter. Note the love above. I believe the term priceless comes to mind! Rod let her steer across the line in the final race. (Thanks to Ray Wulff for the info).
