fran’s big adventure
It seems more and more cool chicks are out there taking on funky and unique challenges in sailing, and this week we recognize England’s Frances Gifford as the SA Sailor Chick Of The Week for her early summer voyage around England and part of Scotland in a wee Wayfarer dinghy. She didn’t do it solo (she hosted dozens of crew from lifelong sailors to newbies), she didn’t do it non-stop (and her blog is full of excellent and fun stories about her experiences along the way), and she certainly didn’t break any records, but she did raise some cash for a couple of worthwhile charities, and once again proved that sailor chicks can do almost anything. Nice job!
