mowing down the miners!
Tropical squalls of up to 40 knots just before and after the start played havoc with the fleet at the recent Phuket Race Week regatta. We struggled to the windward mark in our Phuket Sport 8 under mainsail alone after dropping the C3 halfway up the leg and knew we only had to make it around the corner for some real action. Would you believe the Phuket 8 won the windiest race of the regatta? Better still finished 2nd overall by a single point to a Club Swan 42 on IRC, not too bad for a 7.8 metre sporty. Thanks to Scott Duncanson with video credit to tactician Aaron Taunt.
