While BMW Oracle are spending millions testing different formats and filming techniques in Valencia to find out what might best work for the next America’s Cup, our friends at Loughborough University in Great Britain have been busy testing the response from the sailing community to different sailing events and television formats. The simple online survey takes a few minutes to complete and features an action video from a host of sailing events such as the Volvo Ocean Race, World Match Racing Tour and Extreme 40’s.
The students don’t have the big budgets of the BMW Oracle guys, but they have thrown in a nice incentive for Anarchists to spend a few minutes telling them what you think. One lucky participant who completes the survey will win a new Apple iPad. The survey closes on the 31st of July. The students reckon that they will get similar answers to the army of pros from BMW Oracle – but thanks to the enthusiastic sailors who read SA, it should be far quicker!
