300 miles for mike
We couldn’t make this year’s Tybee 500, but our introduction to the ridiculous winds on the South Texas Gulf Coast combined with our jonesing for some Le Mans-style beach cat starts made it an easy choice to bring a little Anarchy to the Great Texas 300 fron June 16th to 19th. The race, in an Open and F-18 Fleet, starts in South Padre Island and runs in four stages up the windy coastline to Galveston, and we’ll do our best to bring you exciting video coverage and the other usual fun OTWA bits in honor of Mike Worrell, without whom no one would be doing this kind of racing.
The event has adopted a new slogan: "Racing To The Finish For Mike Worrell", and we’ll spend some time getting stories of the little legend from those who knew him. We just learned that we might have a chance to get OTWA super stud John Casey down there with us fresh off a strong Tybee 500 performance, and JC always adds a ton to our coverage, especially when it’s in his kind of boat.
Keep your eyes on the thread for more details as they evolve.
