Up to 5 meter waves in 36 knts wind right into the face, freezing temperatures and seasickness. Only half the fleet made it to the finish line at Kiel-Lighthouse (Germany) after a tough race from Island Helgoland up the Danish coast, Skagerak into the Baltic Sea.
The 12 crew members of www.speedsailing.de pushed the V.O.60 "Illbruck" (Winner of the 2002 Volvo Ocean Race) in boat breaking conditions to second place over the line.
