on a mission
We’re very late with this, but for San Diego anarchists, this may be of interest.
Please consider joining us to welcome the crew from Ocean Watch, the FIRST EVER sailboat to circumnavigate North and South America, as it returns to the U.S. in San Diego today after a 13-month, 28,000 nautical mile sailing expedition called Around the Americas, launched to educate the public about threats to our oceans (ocean acidification, melting glaciers, coral reef depletion, etc). Ocean Watch will dock at Noon at the Maritime Museum of San Diego today, which will be the ship’s first re-entry into the U.S. Ocean advocate, Bill Walton, will greet the crew at 2:45 p.m. today.
Captain Mark Schrader, is the leader of the 25,000 mile ocean conservation project Around the Americas and is available for interviews May 5-9. He has sailed around the world solo TWO times and is the first Captain to sail around the Americas. He is our spokesman on all topics related to the expedition and will be available for media interviews at each of the outlined port stops below. He is a weathered, experienced captain of the seas, a real-life Captain Ahab! Please see photo and bio here.
