new blood

The same resort that hosted the fun at last month’s Charleston Race Week will soon be the first US site of sailing/racing school Ondeck, which will add Charleston to its portfolio of sailing operations in Europe, the Caribbean, and England.  Ondeck has a slick operation that runs from basic instruction to big boat racing charters (they have a fleet of four Farr 65s in Cowes), and they’ll be partnering with Ocean Sailing Academy owner Ned Goss on the new venture.  If that sounds familiar, it should:  OSA has been an On-The-Water Anarchy supporter for a couple of years now, and Ned’s one of the regulars in front of Clean’s camera at various Melges 24 and big boat events.

OSA is a great little sailing school in an awesome venue for training and learning to sail, but Ondeck brings a whole new level of marketing muscle and financial juice to their projects, and we understand that this one will be no different, with some pretty hot new rides already slated for Patriot’s Point this summer.  Any way you cut it, it’s a hell of an endorsement for Charleston in specific and US racing in general, and we’ll send our resident bald editor down there for an Innerview when he’s back in the land of boiled peanuts and oyster roasts.
