hendo says so
In response to a number of requests from the SA community, we spent almost 20 minutes on camera with Speedboat rigger Andrew Henderson getting a comprehensive tour of the prospective record-breaker’s running rigging and on-deck systems. This is the first time we’ve done this kind of walk-through before, with one of the guys that built everything telling us what he did, how it works, and what he used, right down to the millimeter in cases. This is a big deal in the often secretive world of maxi yacht rigging, and a huge thanks to Hendo and the boys from Dark Horse Yachting for being so open with us; this is a concept we’ll be exploring again. Part One of the walkthrough is embedded below, while you can catch the rest of the videos in the thread. You’ll find Part Two of the deck tour, another interview with Hendo on what his job is like, as well as a full tour of the cabin of the boat (including the keel, water ballast systems, engine room, nav station, etc.)
This brings our extensive coverage of the rebirth of Speedboat to an end, though you will no doubt hear more from her wide decks very soon. Keep tabs on her in the thread and via the Speedboat Facebook page.
