new race
We like it when new races come along that offer something different. Here’s a SoCal effort at just that…
Come for the race! If you’ve been waiting for a serious offshore race that doesn’t require passports, finishes at the same place it starts, and offers new challenges, then check out the brand new Around The Islands Race.
Starting and finishing off Newport Beach and hosted by Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club on July 16-18, 2010, this 125 nm race around Catalina, Sutil, and Santa Barbara islands (clockwise) offers the challenge of long off-wind, up-wind, and down-wind legs. You are likely to encounter a wide range of conditions on this unique, fun and challenging event.
Stay for the party! To make it even more fun, there’s a “Launch Party” the evening before the race and a post-race Trophy Presentation that will knock your boat shoes off. We are stoked to have Oakley sunglasses as our presenting sponsor and will award polarized sunglasses to each class winning skipper! But wait, there’s more!
Live music and a few mystery guests will make these events the place to be. Racers and friends are invited to join us on this long weekend. PARTY HARD…RACE HARD!
Go to www.bcyc.org (On The Water/Around The Islands) and sign up now. This is a race you do not want to miss!
