swarming

With the excitement of Valencia fading fast, the next big thing for adreno-freaks and carbo-philes comes from the fastest singlehander on the water – the Dubai Puma Moth Worlds.  And like bugs to a lamp, the mothies are mentally swarming to the warm sun of the Arabian Desert, and of course the full On-The-Water Anarchy team is swarming right there with them – just a few days behind.  More on our complete coverage program Friday, and in the meantime, have a look at Si Payne’s cheeky Moth Worlds Form Guide here.

Going into SA’s coverage of the Dubai event, it’s a good time to recognize the great multimedia skills that have been developing right alongside the modern foiling Moth – we’re certainly a long way from the shaky vids that Mer and I shot when Bora got his first boat in Detroit 3 years ago.  Embedded below is Tyler Shortt’s excellent HD work from Day 1 of the PCCs in San Diego (The rest of the PCC videos are here) and then take a peek at Jack Nelson’s excellently edited compilation of footage from Moth Camp – a great one to share with non-sailors.  Rockin’ stuff – put it on 720p or HD and sit back and enjoy.  As an aside, Shortt shot this video of Maverick’s pummelling some spectators that NBC’s Nightly News used last week.  Cha-ching!
