perfect day

A down-to-the-wire final day of beautiful Sydney number 2-rig weather at the JJ Giltinans (18 Foot Skiff World Championship) saw Seve Jarvin and the nippers on Gotta Love It 7(who aren’t that nippy anymore) beat out Michael Cocko Coxon (Thurlow Fisher Lawyers) and the British Project Racing team for the overall win by just 4 points.  Cocko had it almost tied up but simply couldn’t buy a leg on the final day, pulling an 11th to the kiddies’ bullet.  A perhaps-stretched-a-bit-too-thin Rob Greenhalgh on Benny/PSP came a disappointing 7th, with Howie Hamlin’s SF entrant as the top (and lone) US boat just below the mid point of the 30-boat fleet in the coolest dinghy regatta there is.  Full results are here, and more photos like this one from Christauphe Launay at his site here.
