Rather than have our awesome crew forced home from lack of funds, we’re playing the odds a bit for tomorrow’s Layline 33rd America’s Cup Anarchy Special Report by ditching the RIB we reserved in favor of watching ashore (well, either that or someone from Switzerland decided to pull some strings and take our boat from under us). We figure that with the start already postponed 2 hours, Harold Bennett is likely to blow the race off.. But we’re nothing if not resourceful, and Friday’s plan is to run our own mix of interviews and pics from the morning’s dock-out and around town as well as analysis of the racing as seen on the BMW/Oracle feed from a great spot.
Of course that is if there is any racing, which is pretty unlikely at the moment – another reason we are keeping close to home for this one. Be sure to keep an eye on the Friday thread (no, not that kind of Friday) for minute by minute updates and to the Special Report for some fun live action throughout the day.
Thanks to Layline.Com, presenting sponsor GUNBOAT’s new Nigel Irens-designed high-performance cruising cats, PURE Carbon RIBS, and Gill’s Race Collection. Check out some awesome Mark Covell reports from the Majan A-100 record run thanks to Oman Sail, and watch foil revolutionary Andrew McDougall’s new site for updated news on his new company. And go buy something from at least one of them so they open their wallets when we tell them how much it’ll cost to stay another week!
Have a little meeting with our rock star crew in the vid!
