Still Rocking
The 470 gets forgotten sometimes. Here’s a reminder…
Forty-five 470 teams from fifteen countries convened in Miami January 16-18 to sail the 2010 470 North American Championships. The event, hosted by Miami Yacht Club, saw the full spectrum of conditions, with the Race Committee reporting winds gusting over 30 kts on Saturday, a sharp frontal passage on Sunday, and light unsettled breeze on Monday.
GBR sailors Luke Patience and Stuart Bithell took first in the men’s and mixed division, with Sofian Bouvet and Jeremie Mion (FRA) 2nd and Nick Rodgers and Pom Green (GBR) 3rd.
In the Women’s championship FRA sailors Emmanuelle Rol and Helene Defranance placed first, Amanda Clark and Sarah Chin (USA) placed 2nd, and Camille Lecointre and Mathilde Geron (FRA) 3rd.
As the highest placed North American teams , Adam Roberts and Nick Martin (USA – 7th overall) are the 2010 Mens and Mixed North American Champions, and Amanda Clark and Sarah Chin (USA – 2nd overall) are the 2010 Women’s North American Champions
Thank you to Miami Yacht Club and Jaan Roots as Regatta Chair, to PRO Pat Seidenspinner and the Race Committee for the racing, and to the Jury.
