Land, Ho

From the girl we want, Lia Ditton..

We thought it was land at first – the Persian Gulf so far has been a crazy place to sail, with new uncharted ‘islands’ cropping up all along the coast line…
Except that off to port and behind a haze of sand was R.A.K (Ras-al-Khaimah), soon-to-be-former home base of Alinghi.
Oh and then the jib went up and the ‘thing’ went like a rocket across the horizon.

The photos are pretty crap, because the visibility was pretty crap and of course even on a Gunboat, a 48fter couldn’t keep up!
