We had our first sail yesterday in the SF Bay. It was amazing! Right as we got into the bay the Blue Angels began buzzing our mast – really close! We sailed in 8-10 knots of breeze under the Blue Angels for an hour or two. The boat is fast and reactive, without any tuning and the daggerboard down and the keel canted the helm was in perfect balance. We have some tuning to do and we will do a real test sail next weekend with Harry Pattison, Jim Antrim, Mark and Jay Butler (Butler Rigging) and Uncle Cree Partridge (Berkeley Marine Center). Suffice it to say it was great to finally get out on the water on Rapid Transit. She is beauty to behold. Our first start line appearance will be at the Hot Rum Series at SDYC and we are excited as hell!
