From Minista "Kokopelli"
I have been trying to identify someone qualified in composites who could help rebuild Craig Horsfield’s stern. During the first leg of the Mini Transat, Craig was surfing down a major wave at full speed when the bottom of the ride ended in a collision with a whale. The impact ripped one of his rudders off and in the process, opened up a 1 square foot hole out of the transdom/hull intersection where the bottom rudder fitting used to be. He was able to find someone in Porto/Portugal who globbed some polyester and glass over the delamination as a band aid, but he needs a much more substantial repair/rebuild once in Funchal. Right now he is just concentrating to make it to Madeira within the 5 day time limit after the first mini finishes. Anyone in the area who can lend a hand to help Craig fix this problem, please send info to me via PM or email. It would be greatly appreciated!
