Way Back

This amazing picture taken last week-end during the star Swiss Cup in Geneva lake (Switzerland) reminds how timeless this 1911 drawing from Francis Sweisguth is. This red cedar and mahogany star, built by Etchells in Old Greenwich (Connecticut) in 1963, sailed as a one design boat before replacing her classic Marconi rig by an extreme Gaff Rig (up to 90m2, instead of 29…). Since, she sailed few times with french sailor Eric Tabarly as a skipper, before being completely refitted last year by their new swiss owners. Thanks to photographer Julien Gille for the pics. More pics here. And here.
