Despite a weight and strength handicap, Lindsay Bergan Buchan proved that a fit, skilled woman can indeed outlast a bunch of the men in the world’s fastest singlehanded dinghy.  Lindsay ended up 32nd in a field of what one Olympic medalist called “probably the most talented field I’ve ever competed against,” and showed up many of the men by finishing every one of the 15 races of Worlds – not an easy feat when the Gorge starts throwing gusts up the river at you.  If Lindsay can do it, girls – so can you.  And after partying with the Mothies for 10 days, we can authoritatively say then need some more X chromosomes at these events…
