Humble Heat
It was hot in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands this weekend – Sahara hot, since that was where the wind was coming from. Shade temps were in the mid 40s (110+ F), but Sara Quita Offringa didn’t seem to mind, throwing on a cute bikini and chilling while her second straight PWA Women’s Windsurfing Freestlyle World Championship took care of itself. It was certainly no surprise; Sara hasn’t lost a single heat in over two years.
So she’s a brilliant sailboarder, but Nayra Alonso says she’s also a sweetheart: “She’s untouchable- the sort of talent that only comes around in sport on a very few occasions. She is also a wonderful person, always humble, always full of praise for her opponents and always incredibly modest.” We reckon she looks damned good too.
