Tuna Surprise
Since the Albacore class started holding World Championships in 1971, no team from this side of the Atlantic has ever won the Worlds on UK Waters. This streak has now ended, as Barney Harris & David Byron from Potomac Sail Club cruised to first place in the 53 boat fleet at Largs, Scotland. This is the 3rd World Championship for the team, having won in the US (2007) and Canada (2003).
Rumour has it that the Brits are going to burn the second place boat and keep the ashes in an urn that will serve as the trophy for future World Championships.
