You Turn The Screws
The saga of Bismarck Dinius and the Perdock Murder on Clear Lake continues, with the power of Anarchy finally starting to move mountains. Until now, the local Lake County politicians and their Sheriff have maintained that Dinius should be on trial for the death of Lynn Thornton, killed when off-duty Sheriff’s Deputy Russell Perdock ran over their drifting sailboat late at night moving at over 40 knots. Perdock never faced charges at all, despite his obviously reckless speed and the fact that he was seen drinking at a bar just an hour before the crash.
Over the weekend, the SAers decided to take a field trip to California Attorney General Jerry Brown’s Facebook page and let him know what we think about this utter miscarriage of justice and the cover up being perpetrated in front of the world. As you probably know, Facebook’s identification requirements give comments there a lot more credibility than the typical forum post or blog comment, so it wasn’t a surprise to see AG Brown respond today via that same page, saying “I’m talking to the DA and I’m looking into it. There’s conflicting claims – the preliminary hearing transcript is voluminous.” According to the dogged reporters behind the I-Team News report, Brown’s office will be attending the next hearing in Dinius’s case a week from today.
It’s about time the wheels of justice began turning again, freed from the mangled, rusted state that Lake County officials have brought them to. Don’t let up, either – go to Brown’s Facebook wall and speak your mind along with the huge numbers of Anarchists who’ve done so already. As you have shown before, the SA community can move mountains when helping out a fellow sailor.
