Don’t Mess With Texas

Proving that their Tybee Island leg victory in the 2009 Tybee 500 was no fluke, on Saturday, Team TCDYC  won the 2009 Great Texas 300 Catamaran Race by the slimmest of margins – less than 30 seconds after 300 miles of racing. Chris Green and Jim Kondziela’s main tore at the mid point of the last leg, losing precious horsepower just as the wind lightened up.  Somehow they managed to stay close enough to Team Sail Shop to grab the victory – the second big overall win for an F-18 in the beach cat distance game.

A big win for the boys from the virtual yacht club – TCDYC stands for “Texas City Dike Yacht Club” – and they might just drink more than the members of SAYC.  Big props.  Here’s the video of TCDYC finishing that Tybee leg, but if you really want to see something special, you have to check out this training video for the GT-300.  Unreal!
