Dane Stig Westergaard tells the world that Team Russia is back in the Volvo Ocean Race for the final leg to Russia – assuming they can make it to Stockholm quickly enough (and in one piece) in a boat that has seen better days.  Let’s hope they can, as there isn’t much drama left in these short Euro-sprints.  Westergaard hopes this will be the beginning of a new program; a Danish entry for the next Volvo.

The real news were the absolutely insane crowds in Stockholm, both ashore and on the water where an estimated 3000 boats came out to watch the in-port race.  “Like nothing I have ever seen in sailing,” one AC crew told us.  How do we get some of that in the US?
