Erwan Tabarly – son of Patrick and nephew of Eric – won the Quiberon Solo this weekend, a Figaro event that includes windward-leeward races and an open sea leg. It was not an easy win for the sailors all agreed that the fickle winds had made for a very challenging event, with Tabarly proving the best at recovering from difficult situations the conditions caused.
The win has put him into top place in the French Solo Offshore Racing Championship, ahead of François Gabart and Gildas Morvan. Pic from Jean-Marie Liot and more here.
