Wednesday marked the opening of this year’s Mediterranean superyacht calendar, with nineteen of the world’s most expensive sailing yachts racing at one of the world’s most expensive locations in Porto Cervo, Sardinia. It’s a far cry from our sort of round the cans racing, followed by a few beers in the clubhouse. In fact, at the skippers briefing there seemed to be more emphasis on the high standard of the social events than the actual racing schedule. The boats, modern and classic, are spectacular though and some get driven pretty hard, so it’s worth checking out the pix. This one is from Carlo Borlenghi and the rest are here.
