A good little report on the RC-44 event from our Anarchy Challenge head of field operations, Rennmaus.
Wet Ass Wednesday! Seldom I have visited such an open, relaxed and public friendly event as the RC44 regatta in Gmunden at lake Traunsee/AUT. It is more like the local yacht club Wednesday night beer can race. No VIP area, well… except the VIP boat which is as far away from the action as the "race village"… no security, helpful and friendly officials, and a nutshell of a press boat that’s a guarantee for a wet ass… Anarchy sailing at its best.
Only the weather could be better, although we have almost perfect 10 to 12 knots of wind, it’s rainy, cloudy, and cold. Not complaining, last night was worse. A storm sent the Team Ceeref boat marauding through the tied up fleet, and left Ceeref with a damaged trim tap. But thanks to the excellent work of the RC44 repair crew she could join the match race today almost in time. A bunch more photos right here and some vids here and here and here.
More to come…
