last month we told you how Xiamen’s Coast Guard office have placed new regulations on recreational boat usage which limit/prohibit use of sail and powered boats. Here’s apparently how it has affected some – a view of J/World Asia from a Chinese anarchist…
The lovely building’s deserted with one lone J/80 on the hard and another, equally lone boat, on a mooring.
Saturday we heard (from the landlord) that the Chinese investor pulled the plug and wasn’t renewing the lease. With the exception of the highly-touted invitational regatta last November, there’s never been further activity.
Not good news for Xiamen sailing; we’d hoped it would be successful.
