As everyone on the planet knows by now, Charleston Race Week was a huge success for the Viper 640 class. To go from nothing at all just a couple of years ago to the biggest class at the biggest sportboat regatta in US history is an amazing feat, and 32 of these hot little sporties was something to see. The Viper 640 is really at the forefront of the powerful move in racing today – from heavy, relatively slow, expensive-to-own and cumbersome to crew boats to the fast, light, 2-4 person boats that make sailing so damned fun.
