Bring ’em On?
BMW Oracle has always stuck to its guns about wanting a multi-challenger AC33 and, if BYM News is right, could soon be organizing a multihull Challenger Selection Series. Right now, it looks like most would-be America’s Cup Challengers would be French and using redundant ORMAs and RTW stuff, but who know who else might challenge once details are announced. There’s Oman Sail for a start. The Arabian 100 project is aimed at reinvigorating Omani boat building expertise, so might they be on for a challenge with a purpose built tri? Bring ‘em on we say, the prospect of a variety of big multis charging around at speed is a lot more appealing than watching lead mines play at on the water chess. Read more here.
