Sailor Chick of the Week

Sure, she doesn’t have the win (yet) and Anna Tunnicliffe cut it fine, but she came away from the Semaine Olympique Francaise, in Hyeres, France with a win to keep her overall lead in the Laser Radial World Cup standings. Going into the ten boat medal race Anna was second, behind the Czech Veronika Fenclova and had to finish with one boat between her and Fenclova to go ahead.
After a week of tricky, light conditions medal day dawned with winds of around 15 knots and the first real waves of the week. Fenclova seemed to have trouble getting into her rhythm in the windier conditions and, although Tunnicliffe didn’t sail her best either, a third place to the Czech girl’s sixth was enough to clinch the gold for the USA.
