The season’s first Transat racers are preparing to leave France. This one is for solo Figaro sailors, a class we are fans of because the boats are affordable starters for someone hoping to make a career out of ocean racing. We also like the sailors’ bottle, having seen them face some weather we wouldn’t be that keen on heading into in something a lot bigger. On top of that, if you want a reason for following this event there’s the fact that a talented sailor chick is among the entries. Isabelle Joshke
