Magazines continue to hemorrhage money in every industry, as only truly special rags can  produce the kind of quality content that justifies expensive ads and massive overhead in the face of an internet that provides everything faster and better than tree-eating paper sources.  The latest casualty is Boating Magazine, the world’s largest subscriber-based boating mag with 175,000 subscribers, down almost 50% on advertising for the first part of 2009 and now on the auction block.  From what we hear, there are some big sailing titles that aren’t far behind.
