Mediation?

Following the Denial of Motion for Summary Judgment in the case of Bradley Robinson vs. The Inland Lake Yachting Association, Inc.(click here.) the Magistrate Judge Franklin Noel has issued a Notice of Final Pretrial and Settlement Conference. The two lawyers in the case have responded with a Joint Stipulation, which sets a formal mediation date of Wednesday, March 25, with retired Judge Jonathan G. Lebedoff as the Mediator.  The same Stipulation also delays the April 1 Pretrial Conference back at least to April 22.

SA scribes have learned that Robinson will be represented by himself and counsel, David Krause.  We do not know who will be representing the ILYA, although it is presumed that the counsel for the February skirmish, Patrick Biren, will be present.

The ILYA and Brad Robinson are no strangers to mediation.  There was an earlier mediation on October 10, 2005, arising out of the ILYA’s unilateral decision in May of 2005 to cancel all A scow regattas.  That mediation failed.
