Cowes Week, the world’s largest and oldest sailing regatta, looks to be in a fair bit of trouble as they are having a difficult time find a new title sponsor. Skandia has bailed out as title sponsor, taking their £750,000 with them. That’s a lot of sponsorship dough to lose and then attempt to replace in this financial climate.
The week-long regatta, which gets about 100,000 people to the Isle of Wight, has had no luck finding a replacement but remains optimistic that they will. Bad times.
